September of 2016

Its been so long, I'd forgotten to even care about it. But it crossed my mind today, so I decided to see if there was anything new in the past couple of years.

Lynch has provided zero updates that I can see.

His last tumblr post was from January 2023, and it was pictures of his cats. Before that, it was May of 2019, when he posted a picture of the manuscript he was sending off to his editors.

His twitter is a mess of liberal drivel and Trump Derangement Syndrome, so I haven't bothered to check there for updates.

Reddit boards dedicated to Gentlemen Bastards are only talking about the past books, because nothing new has been released.

Its a shame, because I really like the Gentleman Bastards series. But I have given up ever seeing that book.

Lynch is a basket case. He has actual real mental issues. And he and his girlfriend who is also an author sorta got MeToo’d for some supposedly abusive behavior.

He’s had a lot of issues but at least at times he writes unlike Rothfuss.

I think 2-3 years ago he turned in the manuscript to his publisher and it did not go well. He basically had to revamp the whole thing.

I don’t expect to ever see that or Kingkiller ever finished.

Yeah. I had forgotten about that series until this post.

Sucks because Republic of Thieves got really interesting at the end and, unlike the other 2, wasn’t a contained story.

I’ve just accepted that he, Rothfus and Martin will never finish their stories.
