Nah, frick that. The current shareholders have the right to know the current value of their investments. Reporting of unrealized losses is very important to understand the short-term and long-term viability of a company.

I made no argument with respect to the appropriateness of disclosing changes in value of investments
But paper losses (being felt by every investment firm on the planet) that will inevitably be recouped are not worth a headline
