Mackey also said socialists are now threatening the 'liberties I've taken for granted most of my life'.

'My concern is that I feel like socialists are taking over,' the 68-year-old told Reason magazine.

Mackey, who is retiring from Whole Foods next month, said: 'They're marching through the institutions. They're taking over education. It looks like they've taken over a lot of the corporations... and the military.

'And it's just continuing. You know, I'm a capitalist at heart, and I believe in liberty and capitalism. Those are my twin values.'

Amen, bro, amen!

There are good, conservative young people out there whose heads are screwed on right and who have had the right values instilled in them. They are having to lay low and work harder than their woke peers to accomplish their goals. Our role, as parents, teachers, employers, mentors, is to find them, encourage them, offer them opportunities for advancement, and hire them as soon as they're available.

And there aren't enough of them, so we need to provide opportunities for development.

Thats great that he is speaking out, but hes risking nothing. We need principled people that believe what he believes but whom arent riding off into the sunset.

It's real and the wokeness has been building for some time. This started in earnest about 10 years ago as the millenials were starting into the workforce and really became an issue and started to effect companies about 6-7 years ago. Companies in order to get work out of them were starting to implement some programs in order to placate them, but it never seemed to be enough.

Then with the widespread use of Twitter and Facebook and the rantings and ratings, companies were under assault from not just outside but inside. They would hire consultants just to shut them up. But that backfired as the consultants began to entrench themselves into the corporate framework. Then the Trans movement along with Obergefell put it on steroids and internally the pressure from the employees became so great that those consultant types began to have real power. Then the explosion of grievances started and the Floyd thing in 2020 just opened up the floodgates.

Most "woke frickers" would stop reading after the first sentence anyway, no need to include your 2nd sentence.
