Late 70s', asked for a quote on a Toyota pickup at Westbank Toyota. Salesman told me I had to put down a non-refundable $100 deposit to get a quote. Told him to frick himself and left. Another instance, late last year was in the market for a new truck. Stopped by Matt Bowers GMC in Slidell. Price was really good. When the salesman gave me a quote on my trade, he low balled me. I asked what was wrong with the truck. He said I need new tires for starters. These tires were put on by a GMC dealer and had 4,000 miles on them. I asked him WTF he was looking at and walked out and bought the same identical truck from a dealer in New Orleans with about $4800 more for my trade. You got to remember those MF need you. You do not need them. All you need to do is look.
