You aren’t sacrificing defense at all. If jones couldn’t play first jay wouldn’t have put him there

I get what you're saying, but no one really knows just how big of a "sacrifice" it is because we've never seen Jones play first. Or Morgan play OF for that matter.

Not to mention, defense isn't that important when Skenes is striking out the side! (this is sarcasm, sort of).

The apparent infielding improvement makes the decision easier I’m sure.

All the players are listed at the bottom and he just scratches out the starters and anyone else considered unavailable for that game. Makes it easier to quickly look to see available players to use if needed depending on situations

Tre' is only playing LF to get White to DH and Jones has to stay in lineup and his only position is 1B.

This lineup won't stay this way for long.

Man, get every bat you can in there. Put Jobert in LF and move Morgan to RF.

Getting Jobert out against a lefty pitcher today, Kling a RH hitter

The position guys scratched out are just the starters, I think.
Yeah there are 11 scratches, 9 starters, 10 would be Skenes if you assume he’s listed in both places, Ruddell would be 11 so perhaps an injury or redshirt, or otherwise not on the trip.

ETA: Based on the numbers Skenes is definitely one of the scratches between Milazzo and Travinski.

MLB thinks Tre is an OF and want to see it
It helps his draft stock to get some games out there

Besides the rant going crazy, what happens the first time Morgan or Jones misplay a ball…

Definitely 1B, maybe LF (probably not). But any step back is more than made up for by having Nippolt at 3rd instead of White.

How about what happens when Tre makes a diving grab and Jones scoops everything that comes to him?

Jones will go back to DH once Tommy can play in the field again. It's also a test to see how this defense works but most likely Tre staying at 1st anyway when Tommy is healthy.

Tre will be fine out there.

This move is more ab keeping Nippolts glove in there and Jones/Dugas' bats in the lineup (allowing tanks to DH of course)

Slightly concerned ab tanks seriously hurting shoulder running bases or swinging.

Here's who is scratched out (besides starting players):
Ruddell
Cooper (presumed to be starting tomorrow)
Hurd (presumed to be starting Tuesday)
Noot
Moffett
Shores (presumed to be starting Sunday)
Taylor (injury - out for season)
Little

Bollman and Paul are not listed on this lineup card at all. No surprise from Bollman, but a little surprised for Paul.

I am a little concerned to see Little as unavailable, but hopeful that means we just want to give him extra rest for later in the weekend or at UT. I'll let Project glean whatever else he can. My own quick 2 cents are that we never see Noot pitch for us, sadly.

Scatch out notes:

- Skenes is listed as a RH bat but obviously scratched out, so at least the thought is still there

- Aiden Moffett is scratched out. Did I miss news on him? Maybe injury or redshirt?

- Zeb Ruddell is scratched out. Same thing, injury or redshirt?

- Bollman, Applebey, Coleman not listed at all. No surprises there.
