There were some eagles on the Mississippi River right across from Brec's Farr park a couple of years ago (close to LSU). I assume the nest is still there, but haven't checked recently.

As of a few weeks ago the eagle was still there. Directly across the levee from the model airplane field near Farr park on River Rd. just south of LSU.
