I'm going to take my 2 sons to the CWS this year and I was looking for some advice on where to stay close to the stadium. We have never been and both are graduating school this year! Also, what's the best avenue to purchase tickets? Thanks!

In 09 we stayed at the Homewood Suites downtown for a relatively cheap rate. Of course, it was Rosenblatt's last year across town and Charles Schwab Field was still a huge hole in the ground. I imagine it's a bit pricier these days.

Go into Trip Advisor app and put “college World Series” in search and they will give you all hotels near stadium, ratings and reviews. Shows restaurants and so forth.

I personally like the downtown/old market area if you can't do the Homewood Suites across the street from the stadium. A lot of the teams usually stay in this area, too.

Personally I like staying at one of the casinos, but I like to gamble (not downtown, but close enough)

Especially if you have comps

There is a fairfield inn about a quarter mile from the stadium that is fairly cheap. Not the fanciest by any stretch but it was clean.

Homewood suites and Hampton are literally out the home plate entrance. Hilton is across the parking lot and I think there are some newer hotels that are close as well. Anything in the old market area is walkable and they have a shuttle called the stadium circulator that makes a loop from stadium to the old market area. It's been awhile since we stayed in Council Bluffs but I remember some hotels had a shuttle to the stadium. Anywhere close plan on spending $350+ a night.

I went in 2017 and stayed at the Doubletree downtown. At that time, it was relatively cheap ($200?) and they have a shuttle anywhere you want to go. My car stayed in the garage the whole time.

Hampton inn is right across the street as another poster mentioned and there’s a doubletree about a half mile from the park that also offers shuttle service if you need it.

As for tickets, I’ve gone through stubhub before and and found really good seats. I know you can get general admission the day of the games if you want to do that but the line tends to be very long.

Hope y’all have fun!!

It’s definitely a trip to remember.
