I wonder what percentage of these prospects DON’T end up with Tommy-John. It’s like they have to go through this at some point and get it over with.

Ack and Dugas back healthy are critical for us down the stretch. We cannot have them come back not 100% and injure themselves again. These two are the pieces to get to Omaha !

It seems like there are more season ending injuries for pitchers the last 5 to 10 years. Any reasoning to this? Throwing more difficult stuff or overuse?

If I'm not mistaken, Pearson played some middle infield in high school a la Gavin Dugas.

Nippolt has played well defensively this year but was relatively bad at 3B at VCU.

Merrifield doesn't make any sense. He was a JUCO gold glover and has really struggled in the field here.

Combination of guys throwing harder at a younger age and guys playing baseball year round, the latter of which only became widespread 10-15 years ago.
