NCL is nice. You will have a good time.

Agreed.

I sailed on the Bliss in February. I cruise every month and that was my first NCL cruise in about 5 years. I sailed the Wonder of the Seas in March and got off of Celebrity Beyond last Sunday and the food on the Bliss was better than Royal’s and Celebrity’s newest ships. I’ll be on Oasis of the Seas 4 day cruise this Sunday. Great choice selecting Bliss.

NCL is nice.

I have had fun on every cruise I have been on. The best one we ever did was Norwegian in Hawaii. Fly into Honolulu then visit 4 different islands. We always get a balcony room so we can enjoy being outside and away from the crowds. Always eat in the main dining room for every meal.
Cruising is carefree. You hop on, somebody drives you around, cooks your food, provides entertainment. As someone mentioned, use the stairs and avoid the elevators.
The only thing I won't do is swim in the pool or get in the hot tubs. Nope.
Also, I will never sail the Carribean again. The islanders will hound you to death to buy stuff or want to take you on a tour. It is miserable.

Are you talking about the food in the specialty dining or the complimentary?

Also, what the hell do you do that you can sail every month?

Properly rated, most people realized you get limited time in port, drink and food is pretty on subpar unless you pay for specialties, but even when you do don't expect something on the level on a similarly priced good restaurant on land, it's just better than the other cardboard flavored cafeteria food. Lots of cheesy shows and games.
It's basically a Vegas casino on water. As with Vegas, picking the right casino can make a huge difference on experience.
Kids seem to love it and it's a good place to give up some of that leash and give them some freedom to run around and annoy other passengers why you go to the 18+ sections of the ship

Things have changed a bit, though. Cruises used to be about the destinations. Now, it seems that they are more so about keeping guests on board the ship spending money--I do not like the new megaships. For example, the new megaships (royal carribbean, NCL, etc) do not even have a central promenade deck. I also do not like being packed on board with 5,000 people.
The neighborhooding on them helps. It's not bad and I am glad RCCL keeps raising the price on their beverage plan and got rid of some of the specials on drinks like the drink cards. Seems like there has been less drunken idiots on them, but I don't usually sail out of the worst ports for that anyway.

Alaska cruise is legit. Best way to visit the state unless you have family there.
If by visit you mean go there and say you've been then yes. It's the absolute worst way to experience the state otherwise.

I haven’t been on one since 04. Goin Carnival to Bahamas out of Galveston over 4th of July . . Hope carnival isn’t as trashy as everyone on here says. I liked the itinerary and the price. Hoping that itinerary in that port will weed out a fair amount of the riff raff . I assume the trash crowd typically pick the cheapest 5days cruises.

Stupid take.
It’s the worst way to experience Denali or Fairbanks and the best for the inside passage and what is in essence western Canada.
Given the size of Alaska your method is lacking no matter what it is.

Again, everyone has different ideas on what makes a good or fun vacation. Alaska can not be done justice from a cruise ship. I've done both and it's no comparison for me.

I really want to walk into a bar in Alaska and yell, "I'm from the Federal Government," and watch people scatter like roaches. Stolen from Adam Carolla. Everyone in Alaska is hiding from something or somebody
