I thought y'all would like this one by Carlin:

"The word bipartisan usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.”

Any comment on how this view of him squares with his narration of Thomas the Tank Engine?

Saw him on tour in about 1989. Was 2 hours of the best stand up comedy I've ever seen.

Saw him in Vegas about 10 years later and it was a train wreck. He worked from notebooks throughout the 1 hour set.

He was blatantly contemptuous of the audience and closed by telling the crowd (which was shockingly small) that he was only there to work on his material for his next HBO special. Then he just turned and walked off stage to a smattering of applause. Hugely disappointing.

Incredibly talented, but obviously, a very conflicted guy.

His 70s stuff was way before my time so I never really got the idolatry and the counter culture angle he was so credited for.

He seemed pretty laser focused against conservatives, despite his "go against both sides" reputation.

1. Yes, for eternity. The punishment fits the crime. Each sin is cosmic treason against the King of the universe. God is an eternal being and each offense requires an eternal reckoning.

2. This is why God had to condescend to humanity by entering into His creation in the form of a man so that He, as God, could pay the price that we owe due to our sin, and that as a man, He could be our substitute. The death of God as a man is the price our sins deserve if we do not pay that price for eternity, ourselves.

3. Without God, you have no rational basis to condemn even the thought of an eternal damnation. All you have is your own opinion, and in your godless worldview, your opinion means absolutely nothing.
