It's a really gut wrenching film. I felt like I watched it at just the right point in my life to truly appreciate it.

For anyone who's ever felt suicidal, it really makes you understand the perspective of the people in your life watching your struggle and being unable to stop it.

Some of the drunk scenes in The Great Santini remind me of my father

I wouldn’t exclude TV series as an option and maybe watching the series together.
