Yes, a real Catholic priest, four years of graduate level seminary and proper ordination by the local ordinary (his local bishop.)

What a terrible example of journalism.

I hope WBRZ’s paid journalists were all out and they needed the janitor to fill in. Intern maybe?

If not, I guess WBRZ has low standards and anybody can get that job.

It's about being first, not being right.

This is terrible. Another great man , trying to do what is right, and gets shot by his own family member. My sister works with him at St. Josephs. He is going to be ok is the general consensus.

This sounds like an intervention gone wrong.

That’s my guess as well. I may be doing an intervention this weekend and I told the other if we do it I’m going in for a bro hug and teasing his arse and zip tying him to a chair. Too many guns around his house and he’s to unstable right now.

At my intervention, I told them I was only coming if there was a decent band.

I’ve went to school with Ryan. He’s truly a great person. Praying he pulls through.

What a horrible lead in to Brother’s Day.

I think he stepped away a year and half, two years ago, or so.
It seems Bishop Duca let him take leave.

A lot of priests are on leave right now or retiring. They had Ryan and another young priest go on a leave of absence last year and around the same time a newly ordained priest died (or maybe that was the year before). There will be a lot of parishes closing in the next ten years, especially in the small towns that are money pits to the diocese. I think they have two ordinations this year but four are retiring. Two retired last year and none were ordained.

It’s getting bad. They’ll have to accept married priests soon.

Sounds like an intervention for a troubled family member went way south. Ryan is a really good dude.
