18 straight innings vs lefties

I wonder how many times this has ever happened? LSU just faced 4 lefties over 18 straight innings.
Arky Smith 3.2 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, 9 K
Arky Hollan 5.1 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, 8 K
A&M Johnston 6 innings, 8 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, 7 K
A&M Aschenbeck 3 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 4 K
Totals 18 innings, 23 hits, 6 walks, 28 K.
That's plenty of hits with some all time bad clutch hitting leading to two losses.
Hitters:
Crews 3-9, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 3K
Morgan 3-7, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1K
Travinski 6-9, 1 RBI, 1K
Beloso 4-5, 1 K
Dugas 2-8, 1 BB, 2K
Jobert 2-9, 2 RBI, 3K
Thompson 1-7, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 3K
Kling 1-5, 3K
White 1-5, 1K
Jones 0-4, 2 BB, 2K
Pearson 0-4, 3K
Milazzo 0-3, 2K
Total 23-75 (.306), 6 RBI, 6 BB, 28K
Basically hitting at the same average that the team has hit at all season. Just no timely hits and WAY too many infield pop ups and Ks…unproductive outs that aren’t moving anybody around. Add that to 2-3 baserunning blunders and you’ve got a recipe for not much offense.
RISP:
Arky: 2/10
A&M: 3/20
Total: 5/30. 25 at bats with runners in scoring position ended in outs. Out of 52 ABs resulting in an out the last 2 games, 25 of them came with runners in scoring position. Nearly half. What's the chances

If it’s any consolation we play in the best conference by a mile. I highly doubt we see lefties the caliber we’ve seen lately until the supers. And at that point there’s nothing this team hasn’t seen

Baserunning took us out of multiple innings. Jones getting thrown out moving to 2nd today, Travinski out at 3rd yesterday. Need to clean that up

And they hit them pretty well just not at the right times unfortunately 23 hits over two game to pitchers that throw from the side that the rant says LSU can’t hit.

Travinski dumbass didn’t score on that bloop double. In no way the ball was gonna be caught. Then Dugas bunted to the pitcher like a true 5th year senior

What are we waiting for? We have been a bad base running team all season long.

We just gonna gloss over 28 Ks and like 6-40 w/RISP over those 18 innings?

Agree completely. Next week begins crunch time though so I’d expect a heightened sense of awareness around it. At this level, I’d expect them to be getting coached on these mistakes.
Frankly, we’ve worked through it to be the #4-6 ranked team in the country. The games matter exponentially more from this point forward. Things change in the postseason.
For example, we’ve actually started stealing a few bags the past couple days.

No, that’s where the “all time bad clutch hitting” part comes into play.

That’s not clutch hitting. That’s just bad hitting, period.

Edited to add stats of individual hitters. Only have 2-3 hitters worth a shite realistically and one of them didn't play yesterday.

Food for thought - a team batting .306 will get 3 or fewer hits out of 20 ABs 11% of the time. Unfortunately today was that day.

Lol
Every crappy team we play in the regional will throw soft throwing lefties. We will see if anyone has learned to hit them.

According to some the good news is we lost so our team can "rest." We'll look like the '75 Reds next weekend!

3/20 today
2/10 yesterday (I just looked through play by play quickly, could be off a bit there)
5/30 overall. So we had 52 at bats resulting in outs, and 25 of them with runners in scoring position

This is the post season. It’s big boy ball with a full season of scouting. LSU is easy to beat now unfortunately. Hold them to 5 runs a game and they swept.
