Good advice. Always worry before eating any strange lady things. You don't know where they've been.

Lo Sole Mio was a fantastic Italian restaurant. Sadly, it closed last year. Did you ever make it there?

Yes. It was very good.

If I'm going to Nebraska, I'm eating steak. If I'm on a coast, I'm ordering a good piece of fish.

I alway enjoy a whiskey ribeye at The Drover and they usually have a good bourbon selection. Not fancy but one of the better steaks in Omaha IMO

To each their own, but I'm not going to Nebraska and seeking out "cajun food" places. I can get all of the cajun food I want at home. IMO, some of the most annoying people to travel with are those who go to a different locale but demand to eat the same type cuisine they get at home OR at only chain restaurants.

I've had this conversation before...in Chicago.

Me: "Where would y'all like to eat tonight?"

Some in group: "Yelp says this place has po-boys and red beans".

Me: "How about we get something else besides Louisiana food since, you know, we are in Illinois?"

Group: "There is a Chili's down the street."

Me: "What about a local Chicago place? Maybe a steak? Deep dish pizza? Italian food? Maybe German or Polish food. Or hell, even a hot dog?"

Group: "I don't know if I'll like any of that. Chili's has a really good hamburger. Let's just go there."

Me: "Dear God"

People in Nebraska enjoy having LSU in Omaha. Probably their favorite team outside of Nebraska teams. They like the LSU people.

One of the reasons for this is that in the past, LSU people have always enjoyed the city, while many other teams felt they were slumming there with a bunch a hicks. Omaha people enjoyed the LSU people for not looking down on them or making fun of them.

You have to know that Louisiana is special because of the food, and you can't expect to get that good food in the middle of the Great Plains.

Go, eat some local foods, don't complain if it isn't up to Louisiana taste, and have fun at the games.

visit the Omaha Henry-Doorly Zoo

In the parking lot, you can also visit the diamond from the old Rosenblatt Stadium, and stand in the exact spot where Warren Morris stood for the greatest play in LSU sports history!

I'd vouch for Mouth of the South. Go there routinely. Definitely get the crawfish queso appetizer.

Two other places are Herb Sainte and Acadian Grille

Also you're spot on with mama's pizza and porky butts

Didn't care for red anchor inn. It's that Chinese boil in the bag stuff.

I agree Colonel. You will find me at The Drover on Thursday polishing off one of their Whiskey steaks. Been eating there for over 25 years.

I have been to the CWS 2000 2003 2004 2008 2009 2010 and 2011. My first meal every time was Lo Sole Mio . Great restaurant. You could always count on seeing Skip and Augue Garrido in the restaurant. The family was very generous to LSU fans .

Runza. People here love them. They are sort of like a Natchitoches meat pie with softer bread.

I was coming to post this. My Nebraska friend swears they are the best thing since sliced bread. I'm not sure about the cabbage.

How pricey? I assume pretty expensive since they don't even list it.
