We're all just going to stroll right past the fact that this came to them on a FAX? What year is this?

One of the approved methods of transmission under HIPAA. Maybe easier to print out letter, sign, and fax than using other forms since they clearly don't give a shite about OP.

Basically she said “You like their way? Go see them then.” I don’t blame her.

Your doctor can fire you for pretty much anything.

In some cases they have to establish continuity of care first

But generally yeah you have no recourse here.

Honestly the fact that you can't simply let go and want to retaliate or force her to take care of her Makes me think you have a personality disorder yourself

I took great pains to present the suggestion in a constructive and neutral tone.

Maybe you should spend some of those great pains learning the difference between the words can and may.

I think she’s saying that if you want to act like an a-hole, you probably need to see a proctologist. Or, she may just be the kind of person who feels if she needs your opinion, she’ll give it to you.

Firing a patient is one of the few satisfactions I have in life.

I had one come and curse my staff out last week because his toenail fungus medicine was sent to the wrong pharmacy (because he told us the wrong one).

Fired.

The fact that she uses a form letter implies she does this was some frequency.

Why do you think this "form" letter is only used to fire patients? It's probably just a template that has the date, dear______, and her signature line. She's most likely not sending a form letter firing a bunch of patients, she just used her template to fire you.

They’re doctors, but not physicians.

She probably offered a perfectly valid reason why she doesn't use such a system followed by his telling her why she was wrong and bad at business.

I am guessing this is why the OP doesn't have a wife or gf to talk to about this.

or more likely he was giving off a creeper vibe and trying to hit up on her and she saw her out to boot his arse out of her office

No one is guaranteed the services of a doctor unless you sign some of contract with them.

The one exception would be ER care. ERs have to treat you even if you're homeless without a cent to your name. And this goes for private hospitals as well. However, even ER's have their limits and can kick troublesome patients (after they are medically cleared).

An optometrist is a private practitioner. They are under no obligation to take anyone. As long as they aren't violating the Civil Rights Act or something of that sort, they can fire any patient they want.

I had a doctor once who wanted to put me on a certain medication for a micro blip in my blood labs. I declined saying that in context of the full panel it didn't seem to make much sense and it was something that would need to see how it trends over multiple sample. He drew himself up and puffed out his chest and said "where did YOU go to medical school?" I laughed at him and said YOU"RE FIRED.

You have to stand up for yourself or they will turn you into a guinea pig. I also had a dr that wanted me to go through all these scans and testing based on a lab count that was only slightly off. I said that it wasn't warranted and she got big mad.

I went to a different dr and he told me she sounded like a lunatic. He said at most lets redo labs and they were fine the second time.

Never base a medical decision on just one lab test. Always demand a second one be done to make sure it wasn't an anomaly.

BTW, that was 10 years ago and all good since.

Doctors don't always get to choose how the operations side of things works, particularly if you went to a provider who is in a large group practice. Inefficiencies are often due to whatever shitty system they are using, which she may have nothing to do with.
