Thanks 0jersey! Always someone on this site who has to have a smart arse remark! We did have a caddie and he was great dude. Yes was so helpful reading the greens. Took good care of him.
So one group is riding a cart at Pebble. That was the only cart we saw on the course. They could have been elderly. Caddie had no issues and we are all good golfers. So you want to let a cart play through to the next walking group?
I well aware of golf etiquette!

Copy. At my course you have to get a caddy if you have more than one guest. The “I paid blah blah to play here” comment got my attention. For some dudes who play here it’s their Super Bowl I get it but damn me and some buddies are trying to play a round after working in the morning and get home for dinner. Move out of the way let us do our thing the bar will be waiting for you after your round.

Pebble Beach isn't your local muni course where you jump on to play a quick round one afternoon and then run home to your functioning alcoholic wife. Go be an inpatient douche somewhere else. Pebble is a once in a lifetime round for the majority of people.

I lived in Monterey for a while. Lived next to Bayonet/BlackHorse and played there often. Watched/walked several times at pebble but never played it. Did play Poppy Hills, Spyglass, and Spanish Bay (my favorite). Others in the area were Del Monte, Quail Lodge, San Juan Oaks, Laguna Seca, and Carmel Valley Ranch. Those were the days….

Just went down and played Poppy Hills and Bayonet.

Poppy is amazing. In great shape and just an overall great round.

Bayonet is very nice as well but is a really tough challenge. Lots of long approach shots

Bayonet > Blackhorse, pacific grove, when you hit the ocean on the back, buckle up, winds can be monster but an incredible value, spyglass is the hardest course I have ever played, and I have been to Pebble, Pinehurst, whistling straights…. And a lot of other PGA courses…. But still worth it…. I will go back again !!
