Bodi is a nothing but a dumb, redneck POS. Bubba Bodi, this is on you.
He consistently makes the Dems look like they have their shite together. He should be able to outshine them with just a tad bit of intelligence. We get what we deserve.

People wonder how SWB got elected BR mayor and this is why. Because this idiot was running against her

The LA Legislature may be the one governmental body in America that makes Congress look competent by comparison.
Crazy they had such a short time to deal with a budget. Oh wait they actually had two months to deal with it? Well I guess when you spend most of your time at the bar or dealing with the three trans kids in the state...
I'm willing to bet that a majority of posters on this board know that cutting state money for healthcare results in a much larger cut in federal matching money... but these idiots who have been in the legislature at least four years now don't know that?
The GOP in LA is no better than Pelosi's Democrats. How lovely.

The budget was passed by the Republican-dominated Legislature in the final 30 minutes of the session, with little to no explanation of the changes, minimal debate and, in some cases, a lack of testimony over how the amendments could affect services.

most notably, a loss of up to $700 million in matching federal funds, something many say they weren’t aware of while voting on the budget.

The Republican leadership held their breath, stomped their feet, and slashed funding to punish 15 Republican members who didn't want to increase the spending limit. Now they're saying "Whoopsee!"
More technically, House Republican leadership snuck in changes and slashed funding to districts to punish certain Senate Republicans.
While both chambers were exchanging updated versions of the bills with various changes and amendments, House leadership snuck in their changes.
Most of the bill was set, but negotiations were still taking place on several remaining issues. Eventually leadership in both houses work out the last couple of issues. The House sent over their final version. The Senate reads over a few pages where the final changes and amendments had been made. Everything is correct, so they vote on the bill with minutes to spare.
However, House leadership led by Clay Schexnayder and Tanner Magee made changes to portions of the bill that had long been agreed to during negotiations. They knew the Senate wouldn’t have time to catch the changes. This wasn’t about philosophical or ideological differences. It was about House “Republicans” protecting their personal cronies and pet projects.
The only good to come out of it is that Bodi White is no better than Schexnayder or Magee. Even though he didn’t pull this specific stunt, he comes off looking like a fool.

This is a process issue where amendments are accepted last minute. The leadership fails bc they don’t simply put rules in place to limit when amendments can be passed

Please note it is not a $100 million dollar CUT! But rather than getting a $244.6 million dollar increase for the Department of Health's 2023 budget, they are still going to get $144.6 million increase for the approved budget.

So this "republican" is upset they didn't spend more of the surplus?
No better than the dumb fricks in this state who vote for politicians bc they are an incumbent or have a R behind their name. Maybe some research should be done if they are actually conservative or not. Instead we get stuck with these jackasses.

"The Nursing Home People" are all Republicans.

It was retaliation against 15 Republicans who voted against exceeding the spending cap. McGee admitted that they were moving money from those "obstructing government" to those who "want to spend money".

Agree. All politics ain’t local anymore. Everyone voted party instead of person. Around here we think democrat is a dirty word.
Strongest conservatives I know are still old registered democrats like me who almost always vote republican in national elections.
Dumbass people in LA will vote for a bad republican over a good democrat every time. Maybe y’all will learn one day to vote the person and not the party.

Y'all better hope Texas doesn't become independent again. We might have to annex you to straighten things out.
