I grew up shooting a Marlin .22. So the Marlin brand is sentimental for me. One day I’ll get one of those sweet looking new 1895 lever action in 45-70.

Look on the barrel, where it goes into the receiver. See if you see a jm stamped there. That is the one you want. It was made by Marlin.

No kidding, it seems like that is one of the more sought after guns right now but I never see them in stores, not sure if it is because they are so new or I'm just an idiot and they aren't fully out but just about every time I am in a gun shop someone in there will ask the workers if they have one.

Got one for my 13th birthday in 1991. It’s extremely accurate at 100 yards with any ammo I’ve put through it. As others have said, get one pre or post Remington years and you’ll be good.
