To me it feels like Bayern is slow king trending down hill. And has been for some time. It mirrors the national team.
Kimmich was hailed as the future of both. Almost like the next Lahm. But I do not feel he has a leadership skills.

It’s like both teams lost the concept of team. And it’s just of pretty good individuals. Theirs is no world class players on either anymore.
Neuer and Müller are passed their prime. I think Kimmich has peaked. Not sure what Goretzka issues is.

The typical confidence Bayern had for years hasn't been there since the World Cup & winter break heading into 2023. The front office & personnel moves since the CL title in 2020 haven't produced like many expected. Brazzo, Nagelsmann, Kahn didn't show the maturity & leadership like their predecessors, and neither have the likes of Gnabry, Sane, Mane, & even Davies to an extent.

Longtime players haven't helped since then either: Neuer's injuries & goalkeeping coach drama along with Muller's lack of playing time are affecting their presence in the locker room.

Kimmich has his own set of problems, primarily his arrogance and his development regression. He's compared with Lahm for his ability to move from RB to midfield but it came with different circumstances: Lahm did it late in his career because Pep wanted to tinker but Lahm was also happy to go back to his RB role if needed. Kimmich made the move early in his career and refuses to return to RB, even when Bayern has a ton of depth in midfield.

Whether Kimmich says he's a #6 or not doesn't matter if Tuchel doesn't believe that he is due to his performances.

I've been a huge Kimmich supporter over the years, but you'd have to be blind to say he's hasn't taken a step back.
