Getting it on film is one thing.
Getting that film a rating that allows it to be shown in theaters is a completely different story.
It would be hard to get blood meridian to an R rating without damaging the story imo.

Damn - I didn't know it was that rough, even for a McCarthy book.
It came up as included in my Audible subscription, and I have until 9/12 to listen to it. It's next up for me, since I haven't read it yet.
