Multiple of the pastors at the Sugarland location are originally from the BR area. I used to know one of them well and considered him a mentor. I reconnected with him a few years ago and learned about this new church and began watching some of their sermons online. It felt off, and he and his beliefs seemed very different than when I knew him well, but I thought maybe it was just a reaction on my part. Reading this link lets me know my gut instinct was right.

Are they letting new males join the church?

I’ve always been confused as to how people fall for this shite. I know they prey on certain people (young, in trouble, emotional, lost someone close, etc) and I understand the people are vulnerable. But I just don’t understand how they go this far without knowing something isn’t right.

Do the pastors have armed security/bodyguards? There's a kind of sort of megachurch in my area that folks were really loving over the past 5-6 years or so. My family has known one of the pastors for his entire life more or less, though I don't know him well. He has guards with him all the time. Weird vibes abound.

Wow I just went back and read the link. That is terrifying and the absolute definition of a cult.

Holy crap, I read the link. Definitely a cult that encourages college girls to drop out, cut off their families, and marry within the church. They are taught that their needs are secondary to their husband’s, and the husbands are taught to obey the church without question. And they do some crazy shite.

I wonder what kind of success rate they have. Is it one out of every thousand or so? That means you would have to spew this bullshite to a population the size of a small city to get 30 die hard members. It's like watching fire ants build a mound. I despise them, but am impressed at the same time.

It's 100% a cult if they are affiliated with One Association. They're pretty well known in Sugarland.

I figured half the OT would have been members since it involved vulnerable college girls.
Wonder if you have to go to classes to be a deacon?

We go to a small independent Baptist church. My grandpa kind of helped "found"/build it. He had a conversation with someone from the Southern Baptist Association or whatever is and said they were heretics. Once I got a little older, I realized that he called them out correctly 3 decades earlier than most.

There's a link on their website that says "Pastors Staff".. they aren't trying to hide it at all.

King's Harvest Fellowship - Denham Springs

After exploring their website and FB page. I have 2 questions.

1. Why does their church look like a house?

2. Why did they fill in the pool?
