Love walking. Right now I'm probably around 8-9K a day, breaking 10K a few times a week.
My wife gave me her old Fitbit about two years ago and invited me to join a friendly-competitive walking group. I was hooked. I had a streak of 560 straight days of 10K steps or more. Eventually worked out the math to where I was averaging about 11K a day--which translated into over 4 million steps for all of 2022.
2022 wasn't some down year either. I battled a ton of personal stuff, including my wife's chemo and the deaths of two immediate family members. I am not a selfish guy by any means but I made it a point to reach that goal every day no matter what--even if it meant doing laps around my living room for an hour straight after everyone else had gone to bed.
Luckily I work on a big campus and can knock a decent chunk out just walking to and from my car. Taking the dog around the block 2-3 times a day was helpful too.
I love doing yardwork in the morning too. I can easily eclipse 10K by lunchtime if I have enough shite to do.
I hit 20K probably eight or nine teams times a year. Personal best is 36K.
Never tried it with weights though! I should look into it.
