Walking is awesome exercise and it can be done at a low intensity if working around injuries ailments etc.
I tell the folks who don't want to go to a gym that there is no need if you are just wanting to lose weight walk 30 mins 5 times a week and eat real foods. It will absolutely work and doesn't take much effort. I did 35 min this morning on treadmill at 14.5% incline at 3.0 speed. Felt like I could slay a giant when I was done. Sometimes in evenings after dinner I will do a 30 min walk around neighborhood also just depends on how I feel.
