It's insanity how far taxes have come.
If you want to think about it differently, if you work 5 days a week, you're going to work between 2 and 3 days a week just to pay for taxes. Working for free basically.
Yes it is ridiculous. The whole concept of double taxation went flying out the window decades ago.

Only 50% pay anything other than sales tax.
So? Are sales taxes NOT taxes?

The 50% that do by and large have a surplus so they aren’t willing to sacrifice their lifestyle in a rebellion.
Or maybe they realize the value of living in America

We have a large class of useless individuals that are nothing but a burden. Those people wouldn’t have survived in the 1700s. Now our taxes pay for them to survive, have iPhones, wear new clothes, steal from all of us, and commit violent crimes

And now we pay
Income tax
Sales tax
Inheritance tax
Use tax
Property tax
What's crazy is despite all those taxes we are $31 trillion in debt.

Yes, the revolution was against Tyranny and taxation with zero representation however tax rates back then were ~ 7% or less. King George could have given the colonies a majority in parliament and they would still have revolted if it came with 30 - 50% taxes like we have now.

They aren’t federal taxes. And their money hasn’t already been taxed.

You really think government is a good steward of your money?

Getting rid of employee withholding would be fricking hilarious. If everyone had to write a check in April the amount of democrats would drop to almost nothing.
Yep. Employee withholding has destroyed our nation.

Honestly, too many of y’all have the Gilligan’s Island understanding of taxes.
I challenge all Gilligan's Island dwellers to name just ONE country where they'd rather move that has less taxation than America.
Persecution complexes are the big trend in America right now and everybody's jumping in and everybody feels persecuted now.

We need to protect our ability to fly rainbow and blm flags worldwide by spending billions in Ukraine and Israel

The founding fathers hated taxation by the British without having a representative in British parliament. They weren't explicitly against taxes.
No taxation without representation doesn't mean no taxation

Taxation is Robbery by Frank Chodorov
Hard to argue that taxation of any kind is moral, regardless of the arguments of being necessary.
We are not citizens of our communities, but rather we are subjects of the federal government.

The forefathers would burn down the US Capital and White House if they came back today, and make us start again.

Its not so much the taxes that are bad but the evil politicians in charge of spending your taxes!

Well there was once a saying.
If you don’t work you don’t eat.
Now if you don’t work the government will make sure you eat and have money to get you hair and nails did. All this on the backs of the people who do work to provide for their families like it was intended to be.

The founding fathers didn’t have to pay for interstate highways, aircraft carriers, counter-intelligence services, nuclear weapons, drug trafficking enforcement, on and on and on.
