There are a lot of ways to do it. You could leave it natural and let it change colors over time. It’s cedar so I don’t think you have to seal it. Once it’s up I would let it stay like that so you get used to it then figure it out.

Keep any scrap pieces and finish them different ways.


If you want a gloss finish I’ve had good luck with Man O War it’s a spar urethane which is meant for outdoors. Do not use poly as it will peel overtime
