Great! Be sure and report back on the meal
Meal was outstanding. Our reservation was late so we stopped by the Columns beforehand to grab a few drinks which was a good move. The vibe was immaculate.
Got to Clancy’s where they seated us upstairs which was pretty lively. We ordered our cocktails but I ended up switching over to a few glasses of red wine. We didn’t get a bottle but they had a very impressive wine list.
I didn't take any pictures but I started with the crawfish gumbo which I'd highly recommend. Then we shared the fried eggplant and veal & ricotta meatballs which included a parmesan broth + hint of pesto which was 10/10.
I ordered the grilled wagyu which was great but nothing memorable, imo. I blame it on the frites because both the meat and demi-glace tasted excellent. But the others ordered the smoked duck, the seafood special (i.e. black drum), and the gulf fish almondine. We shared bites of each dish and they were all phenomenal, with the duck or fish almondine being my two favorites.
We followed up that meal w/ brunch at Brennan's which was also really good but they said they preferred the atmosphere at Clancy's. They thought Brennan's felt too much of a production which I totally get.
