Its funny you say that. I've been reading about this like I haven't dealt with it, until you mentioned a bar.
Not many years ago my wife (no pics) and I sat down at a mostly empty bar (before I quit drinking) on a Sunday evening.
There were 3 Mexicans down the way just hootin' and hollering, having a good time. I didn't think anything of it. (There's a bunch of them that work on a farm a few miles west of town).
My wife (a former teacher) who speaks fluent Spanish gets all pissed off and starts chatting at them no sooner than I get my drink. Tells me they are talking about what they would like to do with her and the bartender.
The 3 came back behind my barstool and started making a bunch of noise. Even with the language barrier, I was fairly certain they were looking for trouble.
I turned around, whiskey glass in hand and hopped off the bar stool where we all quickly came to the same conclusion.
I was much bigger than them.
They left without a fight, I figured they didn't want to have trouble with the law. Sounds like these days they might not have to worry about that as much.
The young bartender asked if I was as scared as she was and got a laugh when I told her that I had pitched hay bales heavier than they were and would have treated them in the same manner.
I drank for free that evening
