Also keep in mind things you cook well. Now is not the time to try new things that may turn out well.

My mom had a dozen or so bouts with cancer. Keeping weight was always hard.

Grits made with heavy cream
Bread pudding made with large muffins/donuts
Banana pudding made with half and half and le madeline cookies.

Crab and brie soup
Fresh biscuits and honey butter

I was just reading the pot pie thread and thought that could make for a good suggestion here...

I would have appreciated a good chicken or turkey pot pie when I was sick. Maybe a little easy on the onions, though...
