Yep, something like that. Women have to try change us, it's in their DNA. The irony being that the more we change ourselves for them, the less attracted to us they are. Hence, the need to maintain a sufficient level of male assholery to keep the attraction.

When I started the thread I assumed it would be a lot of people weighing in on addiction issues and other things they have seen with friends and family.
A close family member of mine married a borderline personality disorder lady decades ago and I always saw it as him trying to "save " her. There is definitely something in a certain kind of person that makes them select a damaged partner. Like actual whores and dudes who murder people.

America has a somewhat working justice and penal system, people can possibly face consequences for self defense, there's a welfare safety net for the single moms that date these men, etc.
