You would be incorrect. I’m a registered Republican. I call out the hypocrisy of calling everything you don’t agree with as “fake news” and swallowing everything hook, line, and sinker that comes from a someone who may be on the same side of political isle.

He’s doing some good things but he definitely needs to chill a bit, especially on like you say, knee jerk reaction to media shite. That’s bush league.

Right? Perception of what? That they actually didn't do anything wrong or disrespectful but you feel like they did, therefore they're bad? That's idiotic.

Sounds like that was purely a coincidence since this is such a common practice. But people with agendas jumped on it and those who are especially gullible lapped it up with a spoon. That doesn’t mean we have to put our brains in a jar and buy into it too.

This nails it.
The mouth breathers that think this is a protest need to open up their indoctrinated minds for a change.

This is far from a “simple statement” from a governor. Please!

“It is time that all college boards, including Regent [sic], put a policy in place that student athletes be present for the national anthem or risk their athletic scholarship! This is a matter of respect that all collegiate coaches should instill,

jesus christ you still don't get it. This isn't a protest

Do you actually believe all these basketball teams are protesting the anthem? or every Sec and most other cfb teams are protesting the anthem because they aren't out there?

No. I don't believe it is still a "protest". I believe it's just a response to the original non-sensical "protest". The coaches didn't want to have to deal with any issues, good or bad, that could arise from any players "protesting" the national anthem, so they decided moving forward to simply remain in the locker room during the anthem to avoid any controversey...one way or the other. I don't blame them for it. They just want to coach basketball. Not wade into cesspool of vapid virtue signaling. If that could be avoided by remaining in the locker room during the national anthem, so be it.

I'm not advocating for the players to be compelled stand on the court for the national anthem. It's not that big of a deal. Though prior to the late 2010's, particularly 2020, it wasn't a "problem". I'm saying that the basis for the original "protests" that led to all of this were illogical because the US is the ONLY country in the world where female college basketball players can get so much exposure and (since the legalization of NIL) wealth. Many women don't even have the opportunity to play basketball in other nations...let alone in front of an in-person audience of several thousand and many more watching on TV. So to display your position that the US is some horrible country seems illogical.

It's virtue signaling combined with groupthink run amok. But ultimately, it ridiculous for the Governor to unnecessarily interject himself into what otherwise should be a non-issue for him SOLELY to score election "points"

It's two sentences comprised of about 40 words. Seems pretty simple to me.

What's complex about it?

Was Army not on the field for the anthem in Baton Rouge last season? The United States Military Academy. I guess Jeff thinks they are un-American as well. Jeff wanted to score points with the RNC, Fox, and the alt-right window lickers by taking a cheap shot at the state's land grant institution. fricking political grandstanding at it's finest. Plus he's a bottom-feeding USL grad.

If it's that big of an issue, Jeff should have a private conversation with Woodward instead of trying to score points with the alt-right mouth breathers.

I love seeing Jeff getting dragged by LSU fans and the Louisiana media on Twitter. He stepped into a fresh pile of dog shite on this one.

I could get behind something that would allow for a pregame schedule/coordination that all teams be on court/field etc for the playing of the national anthem.

But once again, what's taking place right now isn't on the athletes. They are just following the schedule they are given.

And most of all, this isn't just LSU that does this.

If you read this article through there are many other teams that do this. Even our friend Dawn Staley speaks on it.

And you're still wrong because this pregame ritual has been going on for many years before Kaepernick kneeled.

oof that's right. Also, that faux Texan Chad Prather has been slurping on Jeff's nuts since he scored some cheap points with the right-wing goons. First, his proposal is illegal Af. It would get laughed out of court.

Complexity is created when a Gov states a position and suggests action, that is inconsistent with the basic freedoms we enjoy as Americans. I want to reinforce the fact that Right Wing conservatives are not the Patriotism Police for us all.
