In the industry. Start up is cheap and depending on where you are located you may or may need licensing. Guys in LA aren't licensed but in Florida for example rules are stricter.
You'll likely get some Karens who text you an hour after you leave letting you know you missed a leaf in their pool but it wasn't there when you were there.
Personally I would look at something like window cleaner or pressure washing instead. More profitable per job for sure and the big difference is you don't have to be somewhere every week. With a pool service people are going to expect you to show up consistently every week on "their day". So if you want to vacation, take a week to fish, etc. you'll see some issues. With pressure washing or window cleaning you can say "oh, I'm booked that week" and take a break.

Concur with all that, but pressure washing is a ton of work. I dread doing my own driveway and deck .
