As much as I like jv, he's a dinosaur in the playoffs.

He's a regular season 20mpg guy who can help win you a few games, but he gets ran off the court (like Cj does) in the playoffs.

We can't have 40mil+ invested into that.

I think this is pretty faulty thinking. A "dinosaur" like Jonas is hugely important to any shot we have against the top 3 seeds in the west. Jonas was the best thing we had going for us in round 1, yet Willie inexplicably gave Chet a reprieve. Nuggets? Better have a dinosaur to bang with Joker for 30+ minutes. Minny? Gotta have a dinosaur to counter Gobert. Hell, Jonas isn't a terrible matchup for KAT.

Jonas, when making shots, did very well offensively against Chet. But he was absolutely lost defensively.

Jokic averages 30, 14, and 11 against Jonas. Joker has abused him.

Gobert is not an offensive threat and Zion has averaged 30 a night against Gobert and 35 a night since Gobert joined the Wolves. Of the 7 games Zion has played against Gobert, here is a breakdown of Zion's FG%

75%
73.7%
64.3%
58.8%
66.7%
76.5%
73.3%

Love Jonas, but he's not the answer. We already have the Minny beater.
