I never got that offended about the American Pie stuff b/c what happens to Nadia happens to Jim, too. Like you said, he was immediately punished and that was the larger point of saying, "This is bad. Don't do this".
*ETA: is it a perfect resolution? No, but it's a teen sex comedy, not a serious socio-political drama.
