A single row??? If so, even if the plants do well growing, don't expect much, if any corn. Corn plants do well to put out 2 ears of corn per plant, that is why it should be planted close in the row with multiple rows to benefit from pollination and support as it grows tall.
When corn is in season, it's so cheap to buy at the market that I see no need to take up garden space growing it.
