I know a couple of communists. They are not ashamed. They think they are right. The word communist is not offensive to them.

You will not shame them into oblivion. You have to talk to them and make them understand. They don’t. And they aren’t dumb. They are naive.

The Gulag Archipelogo is a horrible book. And it’s long. But it’s not ten years long.

At some point in it the guy basically says “[we should have been killing them every chance we had because they were picking us off one by one with the authority of the state]”

He was a decorated officer in their military.

That said, I am not advocating for anything except a more pro active regime in government.

There’s another position where he cites a guy who left Russia to Canada, amassed a small fortune, returned home with a coveted tractor which he alllowed the masses to use.

They destroyed it, presumably unintentionally , and went on with starvation.
