I accidentally left my card at a fast food place once, several years ago. I realized it about 20 mins later and immediately called and had it cancelled. Idk if they forgot to give it back or purposely kept it back but I wasn't taking chances. No weird charges on my account thankfully.
Ever since then I don't take my eyes off my card at the window.
