Man it was reported that Griffin offered BI one last offseason and he declined it hoping to make All NBA and get bigger deal. If this is true, BI bet on himself and basically lost it all.

No, BI hasn't cost him anything yet. He still has a year left on his contract. He can still play it out, perform at an all-star level, and get a new max contract next summer as a UFA.

In fact, I had been wondering if BI would decide to play out his current deal, rather than taking a low-ball offer from us, or getting traded and taking a smaller extension from a new team.

This coming season is the season to bet on himself.

Sure you can take it as one more year to do that but being a third option in philly and/or second option elsewhere its going to be tough to make all NBA or all star. It’s certainly possible but nola gave him the opportunity to be the guy or at least 1A early in the season to achieve those goals.

Honestly his best chance was this year not next.
