In these types of discussions, when people have to rely on the "establishment faked this after the fact" line it's basically a white flag situation.

I go down the rabbit hole and I enjoy the thought experiments and sometimes I get a little swept away, but my feelings are that cities popped up that we don't know about and maybe don't fit the timelines perfectly, but no civilization's have.

Cities are not going to produce the sort of information or culture that has any sort of historical significance and they're likely not going to have structures that survive.

I'm also speaking mostly in the Middle East and Central, where society that we know and basically formed around the fertile crescent and Mediterranean. I think there's a lot of history lost to time in other places that never developed a long-term succession of civilizations, like the Americas, Africa, and Asia. I think there's a lot we need to learn in these areas but I don't think it really resets the story of human development

This is the type of dismissive comment someone makes when they are too lazy or ignorant to investigate beyond their Confirmation Bias "Official Dogma" indoctrination.

ALL of "History" AND Teachings about the past are WRITTEN BY THE VICTORS OF WAR. Fact.

Can you all imagine the number of wars and civilizations and nations that have caused a "change of guard" or power? The wholesale alterations in borders, and buried or lost science, its advances, its history over the past @9,000 years?

This necessarily means ALL of "History" is vandalized and re-named AND ERASED by those same "Victors". This new research is far more credible than any "Establishment" tripe. (The Establishment has lost ALL cred; it's far more credible for us to dismiss 95% of their current and past accounts of whatever and go 180 degree the OPPOSITE direction in hunting down Truth.)

CONCLUSION: NO Royal Academy or Smithsonian-sponsored Establishment historian or archaeologist is going to come close to getting timelines and events right. They ALWAYS "fake it", aka LIE. Why? To HIDE truth. And yes, they always fake it - "after the Fact."
