Here it is again! This keeps being repeated in this thread: it’s like a never-ending game of “whack-a-mole.”
Again, that is not what Abbott said. More importantly, Abbott’s executive order specifically allows protesters to be targeted for using “antisemitic” language.
No matter how vile and hypocritical we find these protesters, it is an egregious violation of the 1st Amendment to target these protesters for using "antisemitic” speech. The ultimate goal of “conservatives” like Abbott is to criminalize criticism of our nation’s “Israel First” foreign policy agenda.
Certainly government officials have the duty to punish violent threats, violent acts, trespassing and the blockage of free passage on campus by “protestors.” Yet as stated succinctly by Thunder above, the punishment for these crimes must be made independent of the content of the speech itself.
