I grew up in Bossier and went to LSUHSC-Shreveport for med school. She doesn’t want to live in Bossier. I lived there my first year and it was a pain in the arse driving back and forth everyday. And like another poster said the I-20 construction would make that unbearable.

South Highlands is where a large portion of med/PA/PT students live. We lived in South Highlands for 4 years and really liked it. We actually still own our house from medical school and rent to current PA students. If we don’t sell in a few months when they move we will be looking to rent again.

I would look in this area. She is gonna want to live near her PA friends and near the school. It’s extremely close to the medical school and is safe. I don’t recall anyone from my class ever having safety issues and our renters have never reported issues.

1) as I said I agree with south highlands
2) full disclosure a girl did get killed inside a home on Fairfield within the last few years due to a rolling gun battle. But I lived there for 4 years and never had a real problem. And I walked all around that area for exercise (wouldn’t go after dark though).
