This is actually what I got my son for his 19th birthday (actually his grandparents paid for them but it was my idea). I can't remember what we got him for his 18th. I think a 300-piece tool set. He already had plenty of guns.

I gave mine a SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) membership, new sticky wheels and tires, paid entry fee for several road rally and autocross events, plus the magnetic lettering for his car, certified helmet, and mounts for his GoPros to record his events.

What’s he drive? My son’s car came with a track day, but he was too young to use it. Probably should get him another for his 18th. IDK though, don’t really want him messing up his car.

That article is exactly the car. I tinker with restoring Mustangs as a hobby. He learned to drive in a Mustang GT with a stick. Since we got the 2020, we've lowered it, adjusted the camber, increased airflow to the turbo, added a performance catted downpipe, throw-out valve, catch-can, stainless overflow, replaced the stock brakes with Brembo brakes and disks and tuned it to E-30 fuel and a customized Magnaride profile for track days. We've increased RWH to 385 from 330 and gone as far as we can without swapping out to a built engine. You'd think that would be kind of dumb, but the lightweight engine gives the Ecoboost Mustand a much better, more nimble handling on an autocross track than a Mustang GT Performance with the heavy Coyote engine can handle. It definitely surprises people and handles autocross really well. We burned up his first set of crappy P-Zero summer tires. He's on AS tires now, and is wheel shopping then we're putting some Pilot Sport 4S summer tires on for his competition days.
If he wasn't such a good kid and didn't make great grades, I would be a lot wealthier, but this car and the racing was sort of my carrot at the end of a stick since he was 14 for working hard.

I got him tools (and his brother) starting at 13 and added to them each year.

Well he gets selective service sign up from the government as a gift.
My recommendations:
Kimber 1911 .45 (great looking gun) they have different models for conceal carry.
A nice leather bound Bible with name
A higher end watch like a Tag (good young man gift) and not too expensive
As mentioned a good set of tools
A round of golf to a good course with pop

Take him to Paris for a few days during the Olympics. He’ll never forget it for the rest of his life.

Literally just spit my drink out laughing at Seattle being with the other 2
