quote:

“My first conversation with her, during the draft process, I knew I wanted to come to Chicago,” Reese said, per Chicago State of Mind Sports. “Immediately. Like, I felt understood, I felt loved.”

“We had a conversation on the phone where it felt like she was a mom,” Reese continued about Weatherspoon. “I knew I will always be good with her. She will always be there for me through everything.

“Just being able to have somebody that understands me as a Black woman, that looks like me,” the former LSU star said. “Who knows what I’ve been through, and understands me from that perspective.”

Enjoy the WNBA, where no one will care about, remember or watch you.

She can still love Mulkey and pander. I don’t agree with it but don’t all of these athletes try to fit the narrative?

Honestly loved her time at LSU and wish her the best but I don’t give a frick. It’d be nice if we quit posting her every waking thought.

Angel often talks about people “looking like her.” Girls she inspires, this coach, etc. It’s standard language in this generation about representation and it does NOT mean that she doesn’t respect and connect with white people I understand why it can be irksome to hear, focusing on race, but it’s not being done in a negative or zero-sum way.

And if you choose to misunderstand this, please refrain from any hypocritical Cooper DeJean fandom, which —to white guys— should clue you into the concept. I, meanwhile, will support the Great White Hope on our behalf.

Why does this upset anyone? She never said anything negative about Coach Mulkey. As a white woman, I know there are things black women deal with/experience that I will never be able to empathize with. When my daughter was in her recruiting process, she preferred to go to a school where she could play for a female coach. Nothing at all against the great male coaches she had, just a female understands her better. And I imagine a black female could relate to Angel the best. She never shown anything but love to Coach Mulkey. Just my thoughts...take it for what its worth, lol.

Why is this a thing? No one should care what their coach looks like. This is discrimination based on a trait that makes no difference in anything.

This is racist and exactly what leftists claim to be fighting against all the time. I guess it’s still ok when minorities are racist.

Nauseating

Imagine CC coming out and saying the same about a white HC.

Drama will follow her wherever she goes because that’s what she lives for.

I live here in Chicago and I can say with the Chicago Sky it hasn't mattered what color the coach is, they haven't been very good. We had the old LSU coach for a while and she didn't do much either. Whatever you say it basically is never the coach ,it's the horses you put into play.
