Why didn't you link that NYTs article?
Is it because even the NYTs says the above?
Why did you leave that out?
Why did you not give us the itemized list like a 1 time shot for the border wall thT would not be in the next budget, but the cuts in welfare would be?
We all know why Roger.

The budget is unlikely to have much effect on actual spending levels, which are controlled by Congress.

It also contains what White House officials called a total of $1.9 trillion in cost savings from mandatory safety-net programs, like Medicaid and Medicare, the federal health care programs for the elderly and the poor.

quote:This is cute and all.But in reality, Trump wanted to spend MORE on COVID than Congress would approve. Trump even threated to primary republicans over it. Hell, some democrats were against his additional round of "stimulus".

His record pre-COVID didn't include any significant cuts, nor did Trump propose any. Zero leadership. Zero coalescing of political support. Because in reality, his supporters don't want anything cut. Sure, they all say "we need to cut spending". Then ask them "what". And they'll list somethings that add up to maybe $100B
