Neither are his subpar 2021-2023 assistant coaching staffs. I’ve been saying that Alabama downgraded at head coach but upgraded the assistants.

What does that mean for 2024? Nobody really knows but I suspect that Alabama is going to be better than expected. Losing Bond and Downs hurt them a bit but this is still a blue chip laden roster with a decent mix of starters and non-starter contributors from 2023 returning.

You hired two coordinators with zero SEC coaching experience. Do you even know the name of your offensive coordinator? Because the Seahawks stole your good one

I would argue that we barely know anything about the 2024 Alabama assistants, many are relative unknowns in SEC circles.

They may end up being great but I don't know how we can just assume that they're automatically upgrades.
