My dad had Seger 8 tracks 
...that is what i grew up on and why it is Seger for me.
I never connected with Springsteen like Seger, but as a kid of the 80s, he was a staple on MTV and never hated him.
But one thing that I really liked about Springsteen was his show on Sirius...he is a great storyteller and can make you feel like you are there with him in Jersey of old.
