ten or twelve team conferences are ideal.

John Boy made a good living just reminiscing about what life was like sitting around the radio. Apparentely, it was awesome.

To tap into my inner curmudgeon...
Remember when every game wasn't televised, so if you wanted to see the game, you had to actually go to the stadium? That's what drove us to the over 100K capacity stadiums in the first place.
Remember when there weren't jumbotrons in each endzone, so things got LOUDER after a big play, instead of getting quite while everyone turns to watch the replay?
That being said, in the grand scheme of things, the SEC remains AWESOME.

That intro takes me back. It was huge to be on TV in those days. Enjoyed watching, thanks

The SEC is lucky to have Missouri and don't you forget it.

Correction: it was a 12 noon KO....UGA has NEVER had a home game in its history to ever KO at 11 a.m.

Actually it was 11:30 CST but yes. This is the ORIGINAL SEC game of the week.
ABC had a contract for the SEC but also with the SWC, Big 8 and ACC at that time. Independents such as Miami, FSU, Penn St, Notre Dame were up for grabs for ABC or CBS. TBS only showed the SEC and it was a forerunner of what we see now.
