I’ll be glad when this ripple of attention that the WNBA is getting settles down. Caitlin Clark doesn’t change the fact that the women’s game as a whole is a yawn fest.

Isn't the fact so many draft picks get cut in the WNBA also a function of their CBA? I thought I read somewhere they have some odd provisions in the agreement that makes it tough for rookies to make it.

WNBA is a DEI money pit. Never generates a profit but is a great public relations look for the NBA which covers all loses.

Because if they had more teams they could have more roster spots for the best college players to make a final roster.
How stupid is this lol. The “best” college women basketball players aren’t that great. Let’s be honest. If they can’t make a team out of college, they don’t need to have more opportunities to get better and further water down a shite product.

If there were only 8 NFL teams a lot of rookies that end up being great players would've been cut after the draft as well.
You can say this about any sport and keep expanding it over and over.
“Well there must be some football players out there that just didn’t have a chance. More spots would have given them that. We need four more nfl teams and 4 more nba teams so we can find those diamonds in the rough”
Sorry. Too bad. If you’re not the best if the best then get better earlier. How many Jalen Brunsons can you make over the years from the NBA? What about NFL? Now name all the flops that made rosters late and see how big the disparity is. You really think any women basketball players are going unnoticed? Lol
This reasoning is PEAK participation trophy mentality.
“Instead of taking the best of the best just keep adding spots so we can take everyone!”

Pretty simple solution, they should just go play for the NBA. More spots.

Explain to me why you are making posts about the WNBA?
If you want more basketball find a YMCA team or AAU.
Also the big gal in the middle probably eats a whole jar of mayo as a snack.

League needs to expand but only if they can fly charter

actually a lot of guys that are drafted late in 2nd round end up being role players on rosters.
they hang around the end of the bench for a few years and develop into role players.
just from Brunsons 2018 draft players that were taken in 2nd round and still in the league are
Brunson
Jevon Carter (Bulls)
Devonte Graham (Spurs)
Mitchell Robinson (Knicks)
Gary Trent Jr (Raptors)
Jarred Vanderbilt (Lakers)
Bruce Brown (Raptors)
De'Anthony Melton (76ers)
Keita Bates-Diop (Nets)
Chimezie Metu (Pistons)
Shake Milton (Knicks)
All of them wouldve been cut if there were the same amount of NBA teams as WNBA teams.
It's pretty basic math that when you have less roster spots, less rookies are gonna make it in the league.
From a basketball/sports perspective they need to expand to develop a deeper pool of talent. From a financial perspective they cannot, so it hurts their talent pool.

The amount if teams isn't the issue the fact they loose money each season sould be the reason.
But the real issue is lack of chartered flights

It does, in the sense that the salary spread doesn't make it much more financially beneficial to keep a rookie over a veteran.

No. It waters it down lol
You’d have a better product with the 100 best of anything vs the 200 best

Yea. Huge successes lol. I asked for examples equal to or better than Brunson not end of the bench people. You’re arguing for more end of the bench WNBA players. Lol
