Downtown area south of Main is a great walking area.. Go to City Hall and find the tombstone for "Tripod, the City's Kitty." Great backstory there. Travel up to the City Cemetery to see the'Turning Angel.' Also, find the grave of Florence Irene Ford whose glass covered grave was finally sealed, but the stairway to it is still there.. Take a little jaunt up the Natchez Trace with a sack lunch. I hear the Donut Shop has great tamales. There's an old fashioned malt shop for a bit of nostalgia. 15 mins away in Ferriday is a museum featuring cousins Mickey Gilly, Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Lee Lewis. Its a really neat little town, its easy to fill up a day!

Donut Shop tamales are indeed excellent. And the hamburger will transport you back to 1965.
