Most people have a hard time swallowing the fact that freedom and rights also have costs associated with them. Those costs are often blood and the blood is often innocent people. People are often quick to call for removal of rights to prevent bloodshed. A lot if not most people want to preserve their rights but want other's rights to be infringed because they see it is better for them.

For many decades members of both left and right have been fine infringing on the 2A. It is either an absolute or it isn't.
