I dont follow golf, and i barely know who Sheffler is.. but i personally dont care for traffic cops and i dont blame him for trying to maneuver his way in so he could do his job….. The only thing that gives me pause is the fact that there was apparently a dead body, a pedestrian who as killed prior to the Sheffler incident.. to me, that changes the tone of everything .

It’s certainly different than if he was just driving around the cops working event traffic (although it’s possible the cop was already assigned to that, I don’t think it’s clear at this point).
That being said, these guys have to drive around stopped traffic / drive through gates where others aren’t allowed all the time. From what’s being reported it does not sound like he was driving into the actual scene if the accident, just trying to get to the gate of the course (which apparently is what the rest of the players did as well).
It definitely seems like a misunderstanding but you’d think the cops would have a conversation before arresting the number one player, as he turns into the event gate, an hour before his tee time.
